Curumin

Big hiatus, but it’s summer again and we’re back. First order of business is: Curumin. Following much in the tradition of Tropicália, Curumin is a modern Brazilian artist who plays funky jazz-rock with elements of the Brazilian classics, samba and bossa nova. Not only is the music fun and danceable, but the Portuguese words are of course beautiful. Enjoy a few songs!

Tropicália

Tropicalismo began in the 60s as a new music movement in Brazil, which could be described as a fusion of traditional and older Brazilian music with the newer genres of rock and roll, funk, and soul. The album Tropicália is a sampling of songs from various artists who were central to the tropicalismo movement.
